This heatpump has a higher heat output with higher airflow, but the intaken cold air needs to be heated up again. For example at outer temperature of 0 °C and 22 °C inside the house the power needed for heating up an airflow of 288 m³/h (the 90% value from NIBE document plots) is about 2 kW. At -10 °C outside this already grows to ~3 kW (e.g. during a cold night).
That's why the fan synchronization mode (in the service menu) is useful, as it sets the fan to speed 2 (which can be rather low) to avoid sucking a lot of cold air into the house without extracting heat from the exhaust air/fronluft.
Also the compressor ramp up phases (starting at 20 Hz and slowly going up to higher frequencies) have such an effect.
