Good evening,

My name is Matteo and I am writing from Tygelsjö, Skåne. I live in a two floor parhus, 133 square meters. We have floor heating on the ground floor, with the opportunity to regulate the temperature in three rooms, and heaters on the upper floor. It is a brand new house with good insulation, and our total electricity consumption in 2022 was 5160 kWh. In 2023 we used up approximately 10% more, as we had colder months in October and November.
I have recently noticed that especially during milder days, our electricity consumption has spiked to levels never seen before. This has peaed during our recent Christmas break, when temeprature outsides were always way above zero, even at night. For example, we were away during the Christmas week, and set an indoor temperature of 20 degrees before leaving. As we did not use any appliances while away, the consumption was only dependent on the heating. We used up 40-45 kWh per day, while in normal days before our vacation, we would use 20-30 kWh max but that included cooking, washing, and using appliances.
When I look at the consumption, I see that our pump uses up a whole lot of energy at night, with peas of 3-kWh for many hours between midnight and 6 AM. Sometimes I have used up already 10-15 kWh by the time we wake up in the morning.

I have tried modifying some parameters but nothing has changed. I will try and perform a factory reset tomorrow but then I think I will call in the service, as we are wasting a lot of energy, and we have to pay for it.

Is there anything you can recommend I can do?

Hello!

Have you activated SMART PRICE ADAPTATION (SPA)?
That gives this kind of behaviour.

Also, please post all data, regarding temperatures, and percentages from the info display.

Thank you for your quick response. I had the SPA activated until a while ago. However, even now that I do not have it, I can see this peas at night (the screenshots are already when the SPA was off). I am away for work so I can only access the nibe app, is there a specific data you are after? Here is a general status info.

Well, sad to say, but your exhaust air and extract air temperatures are (almost) equal, that means that only your electric heater is providing heat, and not your heat pump (compressor).

The ratio of COP (coefficient of performance) is about 1:3, so it coincides with an defective heat pump, where you one day have 20 kWh with a working compressor, and the other day 60 kWh, with only the electric heater.

(Please provide all data you can, when you are back home, so we can diagnose your equipment.)

Are you saying that, no matter what settings I might have modified, this is not the result of a bad setup from my side?
At this point, I can only hope, the pump is still under warranty, if that is really the problem!

I see the problem, the BS1-value is corrupt, or your fan motor is broken. BS1 is the air flow thorugh the F730, i.e that flows into the evaporator.

Restart the system when at home, and check the BS1-value again, if that does not fix the problem, you need to contact Nibe Service, and mention that BS1 is sadly only 7.6 m³/h...

Edit: 9->7.6 m³/h.

The BS1 in the screenshot says 7.6, where did you get the 9 from?

Your BS1 should be at least 133 m² × 0.35 l/s/m² => × 3.6 = 168 m³/h.

Is the display unit glowing red, or green when you are about to open the heat pump side door?

Is the front switch on I, O, or /!\ ?

Also, there is a very small possibility that your ventilation system is blocked, by say a stuck fire safety valve, birds nest, or so.

However I will bet my money on the supposedly broken fan motor, or the eventually faulty BS1-sensor, secondarily.

Do you hear the fan noise going up/down when you change from 62% to 80%, and back to 62% fan speed?
Does the BS1-value move at all, during that procedure?

Thanks to my neighbour,
We performed a factory settings reset, and the first thing that the system gave back was a defrosting of the conpressor. After that, these are the stats. What do you say?

But I find it really wierd that it did not alarm you in any way...
It approximately drained you guys some 1500-2000 kronor...

Keep an eye on the BS1-value; it should variate around your 133 m² × 0.35 * 3.6 =  168 m³/h, ideally.
More after defrost, less late in the cooling cycle.

It shoule never drop below ~100 for you, it would indicate a clogged air filter, permafrost, or broken fan/BS1-sensor.

Nice to see that things worked out! :)

One last thing, did you at anytime in 2023  touch the "fläktsynkdrift" "fansyncdrive"?
It could potentially fool the system during the winter...

Also, please check the air filter from time to time, and vacuum it at least every 3 months!

I didn’t fiddle with any of the settings,
I only update the firmware when it was released.

I regularly clean the filter once a month :)
