Are there any one in this forum, who has made an installation with Nibe Split, where the distance is more than 12 meters between the units?

Hope hear from anyone with experience with this issue?

Har selv en Mitshubishi Hydrolution / Nibe Split . Har ikke erfaring med rørtræk længere end 12 meter, men vil anbefale at du holder dig til Nibe's vejledning.
Kølemiddelfyldningen er tilpasset max 12 meter, du vil få større tryktab ved længere rørtræk,måske problemer med olietilbageførsel til kompressor, større varmetab osv. Har du målt rigtigt ? 12 meter er faktisk en del !

Der er ingen tvivl om at når fabrikkerne sætter nogen grænser for rørstørrelse,længde og løftehøjde så skal man holde sig indenfor dette.

Hi!

There should be no issue with this apart from that when exceeding 12 m you need to add more refridgerant (?) and then you will exceed 3 kg. This is because the Split is pre-filled with 2.95 kg and this allows for a maximum piping length of 12 meters. In Sweden, exceeding 3 kg means you need an annual inspection or you can get fined. Not sure if this is an EU regulation or just a local Swedish one.

Also, the factory manufactured accessory Piping kit (article number 067032) is 12 meters; a 5 meter variant is also available. A custom one can of course be made.

Hopefully Swedish is fine, living in Ballerup in greater Copenhagen makes you half-Swedish according to the Jutlanders anyway! I definetely recommend asking Nibe before proceeding of course, their tech support has been very quick in answering a few questions I have had.

The 3kg limit is an EU regulation:

Commission Regulation (EC) No 303/2008 of 2 April 2008 establishing, pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 842/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, minimum requirements and the conditions for mutual recognition for the certification of companies and personnel as regards stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment containing certain fluorinated greenhouse gases (Text with EEA relevance)

Nibe is sending some confusing messages in their marketing. From this page http://www.nibe.se/sv/Produkter/Luftvatten-varmepump/Produktsortiment/NIBE-SPLIT/ (then go to folder "Ladda hem dokument") you can download the consumer brochure http://www.nibeonline.com/pdf/639114-8.pdf. Here is says:

"Flexibel placering Välj en diskret placering Utedelen kan placeras var som helst upp till 12 meters köldmedierörlängd från innedelen, så du är fri att välja den lämpligaste placeringen." I.e., no mention of above 12 m installations in a context which is exactly the same as in the brochure I linked to above.

On the other hand from here http://www.nibe.se/sv/Produkter/Luftvatten-varmepump/Produktsortiment/NIBE-SPLIT/ they link to http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/bd30dbb9#/bd30dbb9/14 and this seems to be the same brochure as the one I refer to above. This states piping length above 12 m is possible.

Checking with Nibe is a really good idea given these mixed messages.

As a side note, I have measured my installation options and reached the conclusion I have 11.7 m from the inner to outer unit. Cutting it a bit close....

It’s clearly stated in all manuals that 12 meter is maximum ref. piping length.
The word “flexible” is use once in a old marketing document and have been changed,  a miss print, still some people won’t accept it.

Yes, this is basically what the discussion is about. But it is also prohibited to drive in excess of 120 km/h in Sweden and still I am living proof that going faster than this work perfectly...

Is there any problems with more than 12 meters IF you add more refrigerant (Besides the 3kg limit for annual inspections)?
