I really hope that i am in the right forum group, otherwise please let me know.

We just bought a house with 2 Frico heaters in it, and so far one of them is not really doing its job.

None of the pipes to and from the Frico heater is hot, and the electrical actuator seemed to always be shut.
So i removed the top of the frese actuator, and the pipes almost instantly became hot, and the Frico heater started heating the room.

So we naturally thought, that it was the actuator that was broken - but in some rare circumstances, its does actually open up. See the attached picture.

So we thought that it was the temperature sensor that was broken, so that the actuator never got told to open.
But it correctly monitors the room temperature (17 degrees), and even if we set it to a target of 30 degrees, the fans start to run, but it never opens the actuator = no hot water is getting pumped in, and it dosent actually heat up anything.

Do you have any experiences with this? And maybe a suggestion to a solution?

Hi!
I think it is the actuator.
It should be warm when it opens the valve, and it usually takes a couple of minutes to open when it gets signal.
If it is warm and not opening, it is broken.
If it not getting warm, there is no signal, you can also measure if there is current on the connection block to the actuator.

I removed the actuator on my fan coil and let it run on lowest fan speed all time during winter, I regulate the temperature direct on the heat pump instead of using the temperature sensor on the fan coil.
