(Working on fulfilling the license agreement fulda )
I used a flat 9-pin cable (like a P-ATA connector cable)
Obviously, I somewhere took a wrong turn and need a little guidance to at least have the interface following fulda's design before I can start trying to figure out why I only get junk from (and to?) the REGO.
Correct Fulda, it was pins 15 and 16 that I connected wrongfully (see picture). I now connected them according to the design and got:sri@loggis:~/bosch$ ./ivt.plDest: 81 02 00 04 0FDest: 00 00 00 0B 60Dest: 20 04 0F 00 00Dest: 00 0B 81 02 00Dest: 04 0F 00 00 00Dest: 0B 81 02 00 04Dest: 0F 00 00 00 0BDest: 4C 00 04 0F 00Dest: 00 00 0B 81 02Dest: 00 04 0F 00 00Dest: 00 0B 81 7F 00Dest: 00 00 00 00 00Err rego version:HHHHHH== Sun Mar 14 13:25:47 2010 ==Note; I tried both pin-configurations.
With my multimeter, I got the following results:Vcc: 10.6Vpin2 (mot GND): 8.4Vpin6 (mot GND): 5.4V
However, when I out of curiosity read the specification on the Max232 in the ELFA-catalog, I noticed that the capacitors should be 1uF, not 10uF which I mounted...
Edit: I am using MAX232CPE (https://www1.elfa.se/data1/wwwroot/webroot/Z_DATA/07302326.pdf), can that possibly be a potential source of errors?
Edit2: I found that I had mounted the capacitors with the wrong polarity, so hopefully my problems will disappear when I get home tonight..
Where you have connected ground/com of your multimeter??Vcc is allowed between +4,5 to +5.5V not 10,6!!!!(pins 15 = gnd and pin 16=vcc)
wrong polarity is not so bad - it dramaticaly decreasing capacity, but sometime workingYour problem can be powering of max - are you sure, that you have connected pins 15 and 16 as described in mnemotechnic schematic?
Ok, some new measurements:pin15-16: 0.27Vpin2-6: 0.36VVoltage over USB compared to serial GND is 10.5VIf I haven't misread the specification from ELFA, should there not be a capacitor between pins 2 and 16?Could the MAX232 be faulty? I have now checked this implementation a number of times
I haven't seen that schematic before. I've implemented my filter according to http://rago600.sourceforge.net/ivt_serial.gif, is that wrong?
I just re-soldered the connector pins according to the electric schematic, now I'll just have to wait until I get home to see the results... studs
I have version 3.05 and i can reach the pump with an ethernet cabel.Best regardsClarre
